SOUTH COPELAND OPTION RECOMMENDED TO BE PROGRESSED
GEOLOGICAL DISPOSAL OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE – SOUTH COPELAND OPTION RECOMMENDED TO BE PROGRESSED
The Copeland Working Group has recommended that South Copeland be progressed to the “Community Partnership” stage in the search for a site to dispose of radioactive waste.
The area covered by the proposal includes all parts of the Black Combe & Scafell, and Millom electoral wards that are not already in the National Park or may be included in an extension to the National Park.
Land offshore is also under consideration.
